Laudato Si' Research Institute - Christian-Muslim Dialogues on Ecology
Housed at Campion Hall, the Jesuit Permanent Private Hall at the University of Oxford, the Laudato Si’ Research Institute seeks to provide intellectual foundations for a reordering of society toward care for the earth and care for the poor. Inspired by Pope Francis’s encyclical
Laudato Si’: On Care for our Common Home, the mission of the Institute is to develop an integral ecology paradigm through academic research and teaching, and in close partnership with civil society actors and grassroots communities.

With support from the MB Reckitt Trust, we are delighted to pioneer a formation course on Christian-Muslim Dialogues on Ecology, in partnership with the Al-Mahdi Institute in Birmingham and the Cambridge Muslim College. The formation course aims to be a pioneering space for two major faith communities in the UK to learn from one another, and to equip Christian and Muslim community leaders with the intellectual and theological resources to respond together to today’s ecological crisis. The course is structured in four sessions over two days:
- Theological Foundations;
- Breaking and Reconciling;
- Educating for Ecological Justice;
- Witnessing in the Public Sphere.
Registration will open in September 2025. Online resources for formation will be made available afterwards. Please consult the LSRI website for further information: https://lsri.campion.ox.ac.uk
